Casa Colina
- RIEBEEK KASTEEL, SOUTH AFRICA
Casa Colina (meaning house on the hill) is perched on the Riebeek Kasteel mountain edge overlooking the picturesque town. The house embodies our client’s Brazilian heritage with sleek linear architecture that captures the essence of simplicity while framing the mountain range in the distance.
We emphasize the significance of architectural details with honest junctions. The tactile experience of interacting with the building paired with the essence of the Brazilian lifestyle. We strive to celebrate the simplicity of forms within complex architecture. We believe that there should be poetry in architecture, choreographing the daily experience of the client.
We blur the boundaries between inside and outside lifestyle with an open plan living experience on the top floor opening in both directions. The dynamic bottom façade consists of pivot timber screens that expand the interior to the terrace cantilevered over the landscape and natural pond.
