Single Residential project in Bantry Bay, originally called Botany Bay after a botanical garden that was planted here for the cultivation of medicinal herbs. The architectural language reacts to the client’s love of sports cars and yachts. The building acts as the threshold between the mountain behind and the ocean in front, framing views in both directions.
Architecture that feels dynamic, evokes emotion. Architecture that intrigues. Privacy was of utmost importance for the client as the building turns it’s back to the road while allowing glimpses up at Table Mountain through the geometry of the sculptural roof. On the ocean side you find an expansive lawn with unrivalled views over the Atlantic ocean framed by a sculptural pavilion.
