Mountainscape
- CAPE TOWN, SOUTH AFRICA
Nestled in the picturesque suburb of Fresnaye in Cape Town, MountainScape is an architectural vision that harmonizes natural splendor with contemporary design.
Fresnaye, known for its luxurious residences and stunning views, is perched on the slopes of Lion’s Head, offering a unique vantage point of both the mountain and the Atlantic Ocean.
MountainScape is a renovation and additions project that aims to enhance the connection with its surroundings. Central to this vision is the innovative roof design, shaped to frame the iconic Lion’s Head. The design creates a powerful visual link back to the mountain, integrating the mountain shape into the home’s identity.
Inside, the design opens towards the ocean with expansive windows and open-plan living spaces that invite the outside in. The boundaries between interior and exterior are blurred, allowing stunning ocean views and natural light to flood the home. Every room is designed to maximize these views, providing a constant backdrop of the sea and enhancing the home’s sense of peace and relaxation.
MountainScape is more than aesthetics; it’s about embracing the natural beauty of Cape Town. By framing Lion’s Head and opening up to the ocean, the renovations and additions transform this house into a sanctuary that celebrates its extraordinary location.
