Located in the prestigious Clara Anna Fontein Estate in the Western Cape, embodies a unique design centered around a private central courtyard.
This courtyard is a key feature of the client’s vision, organizing the home’s layout while offering a peaceful outdoor retreat. Its position ensures seamless connectivity between public spaces, promoting an open, interactive flow between indoor and outdoor living areas.
Elevated on a raised plinth, the house provides sweeping views of the valley, creating a private, tranquil atmosphere. The material palette combines rustic textures with elegant finishes, reflecting the natural surroundings and creating a luxurious, barefoot feel.
Architecturally, the design features a distinct hierarchy: the plinth anchors the entertainment spaces, a white slab separates public and private zones, and a dark, oversailing chamfered form defines the private areas, dynamically carving into the sky. This design seamlessly blends functionality, elegance, and a strong connection with nature.
